Advocates for Responsible Pet Ownership will have a table - in association with the Nova Scotia Lost Dog's Network - at the "First Annual Bully Expo and Fun Show" which is being held tomorrow At Cole Harbour Place from 12 - 5pm.
I'll be taking Bubby with me to experience the event - I think it's important to get the word out about responsible pet ownership and all the wonderful things that it has to offer to every type of dog owner in the Halifax Regeional Municipality.
A lot of times people just don't realize all the resources that are available to them - and once they know - then it's a lot easier for them to do the right thing - so that's why I think it behooves us to go to events like this - because given the option - I think most people would rather be the best dog owner that they can possibly be.
If there is an option that is better than a prong collar - a lot of people would probably choose that option. I have to believe that.
So I am going to take some martingale collars and my old sensation collar with me - and see what happens. Maybe we'll change a few minds tomorrow. We've got a lot of handouts written by Ian Dunbar, and other equally enlightened minds - and hopefully people will take them home and read them.
So if you're planning on going - stop by and say hi to Bubby - don't come too close though - because he's got a slight problem with strangers. So far he's still trying to bite and attack every one he meets. He'll probably be the only biter in the room tomorrow!
Hope to see you there Joan.
