4th Annual Pedigree Adoption Drive campaign kicked off on September 14th - and this coming Saturday they'll be at the Halifax Shopping Centre here in Halifax.
Last year they picked the Yarmouth SPCA to raise funds for and this year it's the Cape Breton SPCA - both shelter desperately in need of extra funds - if you want to read about what happened last year you can read my blog post about it - but this year sounds like it's going to be pretty neat too -
"The makers of PEDIGREE® want to show Halifax residents that shelter dogs are good dogs, and are bringing the PEDIGREE® Adoption Tour, to the Halifax Shopping Centre on September 24, 2011. Guests will learn how they can help shelter dogs by adopting, volunteering and donating from the Cape Breton SPCA through a variety of fun and hands-on elements.
Event attendees will have access to local shelter dogs and will be able to watch the new PEDIGREE® Adoption Stories videos featuring actual Canadian shelter dogs – Bootsie and Phoenix.
For every view of the videos, the makers of PEDIGREE® will donate $1 CDN, up to a maximum of $150,000 CDN, to help more shelter dogs find loving homes."
That sounds like a very easy way for us to give a lot of money to the Cape Breton SPCA - simply watching what is probably a slick, easily watchable, short video. Sounds like a win-win situation to me - all while giving a scratch to a dog that's come all the way up from Cape Breton in the hope's of being adopted while he's up here visiting us! Yay!
The event is being held from 11am and 5pm in Centre Court of the halifax Shopping Centre in Halifax - and you can email Ray.McIlroy@fleishman.ca if you have any questions.
Representatives from the Cape Breton SPCA will be there on site to answer any questions you may have - and you'll be able to fill out adoption applications for any of the animals that they bring up with them on Saturday.
It's going to be a fun day - and hopefully a lot of money will be raised. And thanks to Pedigree and the Halifax Shopping Centre!
