    GUYSBOROUGH-SHEET HARBOUR

    Jim Boudreau NDP

    3,621

    xRonnie Chisholm PC

    1,750

    Lloyd Hines LIB

    1,573

    Amy Florian GRN

    80

If there were 7,024 votes cast – and he got 1,573 votes he then only had the support of 22%.

Now is the time for ARPO and like minded groups to write to the NDP and request that they look into the provincial legislation that allows municipalites to enact bylaws contrary to the RULING parties POLICY – and to further demand the Lloyd Hines as the current Warden of Guys/Sheet H to abide by the ruling of Judge Stroud and to amend the BSL bylaw in the county.

The NDP clearly said in response to our questionnaire regarding BSL and rescinding such laws already implemented in Guys/Sheet H that they ‘will work with the Union of Nova Scotia Municipalities to develop humane by-laws. The NDP does not support breed- specific legislation.’

Further considering that L.H. has been an executive member of the Union of Nova Scotia Municipalities since 1995, and he is currently President of the U.N.S.M. and has pushed to have BSL enacted province wide that the NDP needs to do more than ‘work with the U.N.S.M.’ to ensure that responsible pet owners are not marginalized and penalized for owning a specific breed of dog without the dog/ and it’s owner breaking any bylaw or being a threat to any person or animal.
