Tonight I decided to do some sewing. I figured that was the best use of my time. I've pretty much figured out that fighting against bsl and researching dog bylaws is not a good use of my time, I have spent a significant amount of time outlining dog bylaws in Nova Scotia, sharing my research, and still at the end of the day - it hasn't sunk in one little bit, it's meaningless.
And it's Lloyd Hines who's on 95.7. - the man who said -
"I don't want to be the warden of the Municipality of Guysborough and have to go to the funeral of some kid who was eaten."
You might as well kiss your block headed dogs good-bye now and pre-emptively euthanize them tomorrow.
Makes me so angry I could just scream. Why don't people listen to FACT instead of fear mongering? I keep hearing "there were 96 dog attacks this summer, many of them involving pit bulls". WTF does that even mean? "Many of" and what is a pit bull anyway? A health official told me the majority of dog attack cases she's seen involve labs and golden retrievers. Out of those 96 attacks I saw news stories on 3, all of which cited "pit bull type dog". What about the other 93? Does the media only report on dog attacks when some witness claims it was a pit bull?
ReplyDeleteI heard this man on the radio speaking as well & my heart immediately sunk.
ReplyDeleteI feel so powerless in this situation.
Joan, I think sanity may actually rule the day here. Stronger dog laws and leash laws and owners being financially responsible for injury caused by their dogs, is being touted at City council by Gloria Gillespie over BSL, and I think she's been heard.
