Marlo the golden retriever has been found!

Marlo the dog who's been missing since December 31st, 2009 in Spryfield has been found late this afternoon! Yea!

From the Help Find Marlo Facebook Group - which has just been renamed "Marlo has been Found and is doing okay!" Facebook group -

In case you are wondering how and where Marlow was found...it was behind Rockingstone Heights School by Kidston Lake (Greystone Area). He came up to a lady and she put him in her car and took him to Spryfield vet clinic. They checked his rabies tag number and called the family.

WHAT A REUNION THAT WAS!!! SMILES AND TEARS!!!

If I could just interject here for one moment amidst the tears and joy and say - how WONDERFUL IT IS THAT MARLO WAS WEARING A COLLAR THAT HAD SOME TYPE OF IDENTIFICATION ON IT. How many other dogs go missing that don't have this kind of happy ending - even when their owners are looking night and day for them - a lot of them don't have this happy ending.

75% of dogs that end up at the Dartmouth SPCA that have come in through Animal Control are classified as "STRAYS". Why? Because they had no identification on their bodies. Stay tuned for more of this diatribe.
